Jour 12-13 Un week-end fabuleux

How can 14 days have passed so quickly? As you can see from the pictures below, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and the local events to celebrate every moment of this final weekend.  There were concerts in medieval churches, special meals for Father’s Day, rides and theatre in Parc Astérix, and the highlight for many, the picnics  and high fashion at the Prix de Diane in Chantilly.  For centuries the Château  de Chantilly belonged to the Princes of Condé.  Henri d’Orléans, son of the last King of France, bequeathed the chateau to the Institut de France in 1886.  The chateau houses the largest collection of antique paintings outside of the Louvre, and the rooms, gardens and stables showcase life as it was at that time.  This weekend the Château de Chantilly hosts the annual Prix de Diane, a steeplechase race.  Like the Point to Point at Winterthur, the centerpiece is the procession of carriages, the decorative hats, the elaborate picnics and the fireworks.
We hope this blog has given you a taste of the wonders we have experienced these past two weeks.
Au revoir Senlis et nos amis du Lycée St. Vincent!  Merci pour une expérience inoubliable! Vous nous manquez déjà.
